Last year, summed up:

January, birthday party with pineapple. Yum.  Then shoveled sidewalks.

February, glowered at anyone making silly mushy faces but still melted for the lovely handmade valentines from nieces and nephews.

March, wished I was in Australia like I was three years ago this time. Also wore some green.

April, played a trick or two. Played in the rain. Rode bike (without tricks). Oh, and I suppose being put in charge of 75 kids' well-being and spiritual development deserves a mention.

May, wished I was in Belgium and France like I was one year ago this time. Also smelled the flowers.

June, welcomed Seth and Chelsey as new roommies.  Rode a lot of bike miles, yet saw little health improvement. Consoled myself with ice cream.

July, crunched my car, then had it repaired. Bit back some mean words when rock cracked my windshield one week later. On the bright side, walked in a televised parade!

August, family reunion. And lots of sweating. Cause it was hot.

September, getting in last bike rides before the cold set in. Started worrying about the Primary Program.

October, furloughed sixteen days. Had a staycation with a cute and cuddly little dog.  Also I had Bellatrix and Voldemort living with me for a little bit.

November, Primary Program done. Honestly everything else pales compared to the relief felt over how great the kids did. Oh, and I guess I also sorta boycotted Thanksgiving.

December, a Disneyland Christmas with the family. Also a nightmare revisited, while everyone laughed at me....  Meanies.

Ready for a new year with as many exciting things. (And probably more!)

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat

Put up the tree today. What is it about little multicolored lights on a sparkly tree in a dark room that gets one nostalgic for childhood? Such a wonderful place to reside in my mind, if only for a little while before the pressures of the day push in again. Viva la childhood!

When at a younger brother's house...

Do as the locals: tease him until the point where he might come after you. Then stop. He is taller than you and more than likely will win the confrontation. Best not to test it.

A little ditty

Whenever I work
I just wanna play
And when I'm at play
Work thoughts won't go away!

It really is sad
It spoils all the fun.
But maybe makes up for
Work that's not done
While I'm thinking of play.

Wait time

Nothing in this world takes as long as waiting for something that you know you're really going to like.

Unless it's airport layovers.
